Located in Connecticut, Groom Your Room is a Professional Organizing and decluttering business that helps take the overwhelm and stress out of your day-to-day living. If all you can imagine is a professional organizing company cleaning out a closet, take a look at all the many services Groom Your Room offers under the heading of Professional Organizing. Everyone can use a helping hand now and then and Groom Your Room wants to be that reliable extra hand for you.


Groom Your Room makes it easy to get your tasks and organizing needs met through personalized packages or membership or subscription or through pay as you go. You tell us your challenge, and we help you get from chaos to calm in 3 hours or less in most cases. Take a look:

Residential Organizing*

  • Home Organizer – I help clients declutter and organize their living and business spaces with attention to detail in a way that optimizes their patterns of living and functioning. I solve flow issues and help to create a peaceful, easy environment for that sanctuary feeling that homes should have. Getting ready for a home or business renovation? I will help you get your items organized for quick retrieval and placement when the renovation is complete.

  • Closet Organizer – I specialize in optimizing wardrobe storage, shoe storage, bag storage, accessories to make your closet look like a space you want to sit and admire.

  • Garage Organizer – I focus on creating functional garage spaces. High spaces, lower spaces, container spaces, tool spaces. The way around your garage should be like turning a page in a favorite book; you can’t wait to see what’s next.

  • Move Management/Tag Sale Specialist – I assist with packing, unpacking, and organizing during relocations. I help set up color coding, labeled boxes, labeled tables, items for sale, easy ways to help potential clients take their wares home.

  • *Light housekeeping – Part of the residential service includes sweeping and/or vacuuming, donation removal, and consignment shop drop-off. I always discuss these services with my clients before each session.

  • Workplace Efficiency Consultant – I help small businesses streamline workflows, projects, deadlines.

  • Digital Organizer – I assist with organizing files, emails, and digital assets. If you need more detailed computer services, I offer digital cleaning of operating systems, folder organization, photo organization and consulting services to help you make sure you have the latest and greatest hardware and software.

  • Paperwork & Filing Specialist – I help clients manage documents and records through detailed filing and shredding services. I set up in detail how you would like to address your filing requirements. In this area of organization details matter.

Specialized Organizing

  • Hoarding Cleanup Specialist – I work with individuals struggling with excessive clutter. I can evaluate the hoarding situation and tell you when you need special services to help you easily get control of an overwhelming situation.

  • Estate Organizer – Compassion is key here: I help families organize belongings before a loved one passes, known as Swedish Death Cleaning or if family is left to do all the heavy lifting and decision making after a loved one passes. Are you closing up one home and downsizing to another? I got you.

  • Time Management Coach – I work within the timelines you need to reach a streamlined outcome and deadlines. Through professional productivity and scheduling techniques, together we will manage the tasks that must be done.

  • Virtual Organizer/Assistant/Coach- I work with clients throughout the United States to help them with organizing, decluttering and administrative work. Give me 2 hours or less during each organizing session and your spaces will look like a magic wand was waved around your home or business. This service requires your energy and your vision.

  • Financial Organizing/Coaching- I help my young adult clients set up systems that will work for them for right now and in years to come. I work with single moms, retired people, life transitioning people, organizing files for tax purposes, insurance purposes, and so much more.

Event & Lifestyle Organizing

  • Event Organizer – I create plans and coordinate events, such as special birthdays, bridal events, anniversary celebrations, etc. with a focus on organization and time management. This includes making phone calls, sending correspondence, mailings, and coordination between vendors.

  • Personal Assistant – As an experienced administrative assistant I provide organizing support for busy professionals such as your own personal shopper, errand runs, banking, UPS, USPS, meals for meetings, etc..

  • Life Transition Organizer/Coach –I help clients navigate major life changes with organization strategies such as new family member to your home, kids leaving the nest, job transitions, the passing of a loved one.

  • Compassionate Companion Services- Need an organizer to take a loved one to a doctor’s appointment, run errands, read to them, small batch cooking for them, declutter with them? Groom Your Room wants to be your loved one’s companion. No one should spend their days alone.


All 30–45-minute initial consultations are FREE.

 

Packages are based on hours. Packages are limited to one task. Per hour tasks can be arranged on an as needed basis. One basic session encompasses 3 hours whether as a package or as needed.

REFRESH PACKAGE or Introductory Package: This is for small jobs that you know won’t need much more than 3 hours of time, but you can use help. Tasks like junk drawers, spice cabinets, small pantry, light paperwork, counter tops, bookshelves, refrigerator, or toy chest.

 RENOVATION PACKAGE: This package is for tasks that will take 12 hours, which could mean 4 (3) hour sessions or 3 (4) hour sessions. Tasks such as kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, laundry room, large pantry, large storage area, bedrooms and closets, home office, shed, or garden.

LEGACY PACKAGE: This is our 30-hour package where tasks need the time to go through declutter stages. This package is set up to reflect 10 (3) hour sessions. Tasks such as landscaping, garage, attic, interior design, deep decluttering.

Our membership program keeps you organized year-round and includes one year of VIP organizing and decluttering whenever you need the service for whatever task you are up to all for a one-year membership fee.

Membership to Groom Your Room includes box drop off and pick-up for your donation storage per month, our directory of vendors, our directory of donation stations set up based on what you have to donate and how you choose to donate your wares. On-site visits will enjoy all mileage expenses waived.

Members can use our virtual service at no extra cost in case of family members’ illness or availability issues. Just let us know at least 2 days in advance. As a member you will have access to personal coaching if you choose and exclusive access to perks throughout the year.

Groom Your Room also offers a monthly subscription if a yearly membership is not feasible. Subscriptions are paid for by the month. A subscription allows you to use the services of Groom Your Room throughout the month as many times as you need instead of paying by the session, you also have the option of using our virtual service in case of illness or schedule issues. You will have access to our vendor and donation directories and coaching support.
